Our boy is almost 13.
He’s had some struggles. A couple of years ago he could barely walk
across the yard. We treated him with strong pain and arthritis meds and he
improved. We’ve since been able to
reduce those meds considerably and he’s eating holistic dog food. We strongly believe that the formula in that
dog food is responsible for his remarkable improvement. Though the back legs sure don’t work like
they used to, he can still manage to get himself up on the porch couch and
enjoy a nice warm snooze.
Another thing about Rocket is he loves to eat grass. He’s got a spot by our garage that must grow
exactly what he needs and you’ll see him snacking away. He never gets sick and I’m going along with
my Mom who always said dogs eat grass because they like it, not because they
have anything wrong with them.
Last night as we were heading to bed Doug came across the
Christmas cactus on the floor. This was unusual and as he turned the light on
to clean it up he came across this.
The dog had eaten part of almost every leaf on the plant! Up came the poinsettia off the floor, and
thoughts of a deathly ill dog in the middle of the night took over. Needless to say, he was just fine this
morning. So my question for you all is,
should we buy him one of these??? TGIF my friends and have a great weekend!

Dixie has a very arthritic knee and she takes anti-inflammatories which are expensive but worth it because they help her pain. I'm curious about the dog food you are using, though, so please tell me more if you can.
Oh, Yes!! Rocket so needs a nice Chia cat for his snacking pleasure!
Great pic of my handsome friend snoozing in the sun!
Poor sweet boy!
I would suggest that you look into what kind of glaze is on that pottery. When I still had cats, I asked my vet about it and was told that there was lead in the glaze. Not good for anyone. I was given an alternate idea for providing greens.
So glad Rocket Dog (of course. . . Elton John is singing in my head . . . ) has improved. What a sweet dog! I'd totally plant some indoor, dog-friendly grass for him. (But maybe in a nice lead-free container.) Jenny likes to nibble on greens, too. . . but then. . . she's a lab and will eat ANYthing. . .
